The customary consoles of the modern tower defense games have become a bit too much predictable. The general psyche of the average gamer is such that it wants to run into something new a bit too often and this is where the challenge of this particular genre of games lies. On that note, it’s perhaps worth mentioning here that Anomaly: Warzone Earth has headed in an altogether different direction and this has raised quite a furor in the world of PC gaming. Unlike most of the other games, this particular stuff offers a unique balance between action and the real time mechanics.
The game is all about an intense battle in a fiery futuristic world ripped apart by invitation from an alien force. The cities are transformed into rubble where only a few things like decoys, cluster bombs, assault vehicles reign with the smell of gun powder, death and destruction takes the better of the proceedings. You play the role of a commander of the 14th Platoon and you maneuver your military units along the streets of cities as you fight the pitched battle and you place the units at strategic points to counter the offensive. The action is highly intensive with all the deadly vigor and violence of the modern warfare. You constantly encounter the bunker busters, cluster bombs and mortar attacks and your key to survival depends upon how handle them. You have the liberty to navigate and control only one unit and you have all the options in the world to man it the way you can. You have the map of the warzone to get an overview of the proceedings taking place all around. Besides controlling your own unit, you are also expected to provide support to the other units to attack the enemy installations.
The catch of the game is its outstanding mechanics. You have the option of gain power ups and the placing the decoys and as you move from one level to other you face more challenges though the options also increase simultaneously. You have missile launching batteries APCs, shield generators and many more.
There are 14 campaigns in all not to mention the extra modes and the two modes are Tokyo Raid and Baghdad Mayhem which involves getting into the streets, lanes and by lanes of Baghdad. The new features include 6 VR missions and a all nee GUI that add to the fun. Graphically speaking, the game is not that attractive the effects featuring destroyed buildings and infrastructure and the scale of destruction simply tells upon you as you go through the game. Truly, playing the game is a worth of experience!
